Politics and Civic Engagement

Overview

The continued absence of women’s voices in governance is largely due to inequitable representation and participation in institutional structures, from governments and political parties to NGOs and the private sectors.

The marginalisation of women in the political process and governance in general has been both the cause and effect of the slow progress made in the advancement of women’s movement.

To eradicate poverty and injustice, Governments should strengthen civil society and democratic systems so that under-represented voices can be heard. By becoming part of the debate, people can offer solutions.

Our Work:

GADA is working with policy makers, legislature and executive arm of Government to advocate for and develop tool for wider engagements with women to enable them contribute to the political process and governance at large.
